Engineering Design Standards

The City Engineering Design Standards are intended to provide a reasonable basis for the design of public and private improvements in the City of Junction City. They are not intended as a substitute for sound engineering judgment. The Standards may not apply to all conditions, and alternate solutions shall be permitted as approved by the pertinent City Departments.

The Engineering Design Standards address the following: General, Water Systems, Sanitary Systems, Storm Systems, Streets and Record Drawings Criteria. Each section summarizes the design criteria and minimum plan requirements for the City of Junction City. The design criteria are referenced throughout the City Municipal Code and are addressed in detail within the standards for major areas of public and private improvements.

When working in the City Right of Way, Easement or City Property an inspection must be done by the Engineering Department and a Permit for Work Within City Property will need to be applied for. The cost for the permit is $100.
