Capt. Tricia Giordano joined the Junction City Police Department in 1993 as a Patrol Officer. During her tenure she has held the positions of Drug Task Force Detective, Master Officer and Training Officer. She was promoted to Patrol Sergeant in 2002, she is the first woman to hold rank in department history. In 2008, she transferred to the Investigations Division as Detective Sergeant. She was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in August of 2016 where she served in Patrol until September of 2017 when she moved to Investigations. On January 16, 2018, she was promoted to the rank of Captain and is currently the Investigations Division Commander.
Det. Sgt. Doug Cathey joined the Junction City Police Department in 2011. From 2012 to 2016, he served as a Patrol Officer in the Operations Division of the Department. In 2013, he became a member of the Junction City / Geary County S.W.A.T. team and continues on the team. In 2015, he became certified in Active Shooter training and serves as one of the Department's instructors. In 2016, he joined the Department's Honor Guard team. In July of 2016, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and served as a Patrol Sergeant until September of 2017, at which time he moved to the Investigations Division as a Detective Sergeant.
Det John Berrios was born and raised in Puerto Rico. After serving 20 years in the Army he retired in 1999 and made Junction City his home. He became a patrol officer with the Junction City Police Department on February 22, 1999. Since joining the department he has served as Police Officer, Field Training Officer and was a member of the SWAT team. He transferred to the Investigations Division in March 2006. While in the Investigations Division he was assigned to the lab where his responsibilities included evidence custodian, crime scene investigator and evidence processing. He currently holds the position of Detective and is one of two Spanish translators for the department.
Det. Al Babcock was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado and moved to Junction City as a young child. He graduated from Junction City High School. He is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He started with the Junction City Police Department in 2002 as a patrol officer. In 2007, he became a Detective with the Junction City / Geary County Drug Operations Group. In 2017, he transferred to the Investigations Division working person and property crimes.
Det. Michael Vallon was born and raised in Kansas. In 2012, he was hired by the Junction City Police Department as a patrol officer. He joined the Junction City / Geary County S.W.A.T. team in 2015. He was made a Field Training Officer in 2015. He was promoted to Detective in 2017. He is the primary detective for cell phone analysis.
Mark Robertsis a Junction City native and graduated from the Junction City High School in 1980. He served in the US Air Force for 12 years and joined the Police Department in June 1993 and retired from the Junction City Police Department in April of 2013. Mr. Roberts returned to the Junction City Police Department in May of 2013 as a C.S.I. Lab Technician. His responsibilities include Evidence Custodian, crime scene investigation, and evidence processing.
Marsha Rich began her employment with the Police Department in 1979 and is currently the secretary for the Investigations Division.
