The Zoning Administrator, located in the basement of the Municipal Building, 700 N Jefferson, is responsible for zoning inquiries, variance applications, sign permits, special use permits, conditional use permits, vacations, special exceptions, property setback regulations, and subdivision applications. Working together, the Inspection and Zoning Departments can get your building projects properly permitted and ready for construction to begin.
In addition, the Planning & Zoning Department assists child care providers, licensed with KDHE, to secure the required Child Care Certificate for the City of Junction City and Geary County.
The Department is currently involved in updating the Comprehensive Plan for Junction City and Geary County.
