The City of Junction City will hold a City Commission Meeting on Tuesday, April 7th, 2020 beginning at 7:00 P.M. at the Municipal Court Building at 701 N. Jefferson Street. Due to the concerns of Covid-19 only the City Commission and City staff will be allowed into the building. To comply with the Kansas Open Meetings Act (KOMA), anyone can listen to the meeting live via a conference call.

In an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and provide essential services that support life, health and safety the City of Junction City has extended the closure of the Municipal Building, Municipal Court, 12th Street Community Center, and Spin City Roller Rink. This will be in effect until Sunday, April 19th, 2020. The Rolling Meadows Golf Course will remain open with precautionary measures.

The City of Junction City is helping to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and warning everyone to not play on playground equipment in all the City Parks as this virus can be spread by contact on playground equipment and may live on the equipment for a few hours.

The Municipal Court of Junction City, Kansas will close its lobby starting Monday, March 23, 2020 through April 5, 2020. By that time, it will re-evaluate its closure in an identical manner to the main City Building.

Governor Laura Kelly has issued Executive Order No. 20-05 that temporarily prohibits utility and internet disconnects. The City of Junction City will abide by this order and will do so until the order is rescinded, until May 1. 2020, or until the statewide State of Disaster Emergency proclaimed on March 12, 2020, relating to COVID-19 expires, whichever is earlier.

All court hearings before the City of Junction City, Kansas Municipal Court schedule for Thursday, March 19, 2020 through April 30, 2020 are continued by the Order of the Court. In coming to its decision, the Court weighed guidelines of the CDC, Geary County Health Department, the Governor of Kansas, and the safety and health of all parties before it in light of COVID-19.
