Army Career

Patrol Lieutenant Brandon Mau was born in Georgetown, South Carolina and enlisted in the U.S. Army right out of high school in 2005 as a Combat Engineer where he served with distinction in multiple military tours overseas conducting Counter Improvised Explosive Device operations.


Police Department Career

Upon honorable discharge from the U.S. Army as a Non-Commissioned Officer, he was employed with the Fort Riley Police Department in 2011. In 2014 Sergeant Mau was hired by the Junction City Police Department, where he quickly excelled in multiple specialties within the department. After serving as a Patrol Officer, he was made a Field Training Officer in 2015.


Promotions

Detective Sergeant Mau was also selected to be on the Junction City SWAT team in March 2016, and the Junction City Honor Guard in June 2016. He was promoted to Detective in July 2016 where he attended several courses that lead him in the direction of crimes against children and other serious offenses.


Sergeant Mau serves as one of the handgun and rifle armorers for the department and an instructor for all weapon systems currently assigned to the department. He was promoted to Sergeant with the Patrol Division in March, 2018, Sergeant of Investigations in December, 2019 and Patrol Lieutenant is 2021.
