Yesterday, on February 13, 2025, the regular operational cycle of an air compressor used in Junction City’s water treatment process was disrupted and the machine failed to shut off properly. This mechanical issue resulted in an overabundance of aeration in limited portions of the city’s water supply.
The cloudy appearance of some customers' water was due solely to air bubbles in the water and had no impact on water quality or public health. The operational issue with the air compressor has since been remedied and customers should see a regular appearance to their water soon, if they have not already noticed a return to normal.
If citizens feel they have water quality concerns, please contact the City Manager and we will do our best to test the water quality.
